minimize the educational divide in the rural community.Shilpa Sayura Educational
Information Repository

An educational information system has been developed and implemented in
20 Nenasalas in rural Southern Province villages using this software. To
accomplish this, a donation of Rs. 5 million has been made by ICTA’s e-Society
development fund in order to launch a pilot project.

The Shilpa Sayura project covers about half the syllabus in the subjects
Sinhala Language, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Art, Dancing, Music
and Environmental Studies from Year 6 to Year 11. It uses the SLS 1134 Unicode
standard.

While the project goals for the first year have been attained, assistance
is required for widespread implementation.

Information will be made available free of charge to Shilpa Sayura
